This past Saturday we went to say good-bye to the field at Texas Stadium. It started getting ripped up today. Connorboy had a blast running all over the field. Trevor and CB threw the ball back and forth for over an hour while KK stayed in the tunnel. It was only 40 degrees and she was FREEZING! Her smiles came back when we went into the locker room and when we went upstairs in the Club. The stage was still set up from an event and so the kids pretended like they were superstars singing their songs.Connor spent the night at one of his dear friends house last night. He had a great time and survived the whole night. KK enjoyed her uninterrupted time with mom and dad. We realized that she had never been at home all night without Connor in his almost 4 years of life. We have had Connor home without KK but not the other way around. Almost brought a tear to my eye this morning when he was not here and to realize what a JOY he is to our life. Life would be much less noisy, not so busy, not so competitive but it would also be not so interesting, not so much fun, not so much full of energy. Connor brings so much to our Fuxa Family and we enjoy almost every single minute of it! (There were about 3 minutes in the car on Saturday night on the way home from church when he was singing a made up song at the top of his lungs for the entire 25 minute drive home that I was not so much enjoying it). But then all you have to do is turn around and look at the passion in which he was singing and just let him go!
KK has been reading books and reading books and reading books these past few weeks. She is loving reading out loud. She is doing so good with sounding it out or looking at the picture to figure out the word. Tonight she read me 2 books and I only had to help her with 3 or 4 words. One of the coolest parts of her reading is that she does not get frustrated. I have been around lots of kids when they are learning to read and it can be a frustrating for them as they are trying to figure it all out.
Not lots of exciting things going on here, the calendar stayed pretty empty and to that we were very grateful. The weekends have been nice being home and getting home before 6 is pretty cool too.
Gymnastics has come to an end. KK started in August of 2007 and has improved soo much, she has graduated 3 times but now is not as interested as before. She will start soccer in April.
Connor's teachers have changed and do not seem as focused as the previous ones. We put him in the class because it was at the same time as his sisters so we are pulling him out as well. Not sure if we will sign him up for blast ball this summer or not, he is only going to be 4 so not quite sure. Plenty of time we know to sit at soccer fields and baseball fields. I can't wait to sit on the bench and watch them. I was the pep squad president in high school, go figure and love to cheer for my teams. So, I have been ready to hoot and holler for my little ones!! But I can wait another year or two!
We have started morning bible studies with the kids in the morning. They are 5 minute quick shots out of a book that Grammy got at work for KK, it says it is for girls 2-5, but really it is for boys and girls. They are doing a great job comprehending it and remembering at least for a little while. Their memory verse last week was, We all stumble in many ways James 3:2 We sing it of course and then Connor gets it right away! The other saying that we got last week, was People are more important than things! We LOVE that one. Especially when they are arguing over something, all I have to say is People are and they will finish it and stop arguing over the toy or spot on the couch. Kids are such creatures of habit, and so we get ready to go out the door and if we have not done the bible study they will bring the book out and say do it mom real quick before we have to leave, on those days we continue talking in the car about it since we go thru it so fast inside!
