This little man is funny

Since Connor is the 2nd little one, he most of the time gets equal billing to his sister but some times just like most younger siblings they are in pictures and stories with their older siblings... I found that these past couple of weeks we had a couple with CB by himself so I thought I would share and then also share some of his FUNNY stories.

Just chillin' while KK and Daddy are still catching and throwing TD's at Texas Stadium. Little does he know how lucky he is to be laying on the 2yd line where the DALLAS COWBOYS play.
Thinkin' he is on his way to school right? Wrong, tonight I asked them to gather some stuff to take to the restaurant and this is what he came up with, have no idea what is in that bag but he is ready to go. He also has been "sharing" the IPOD with his dad. He likes to watch it after we drop of KK and dad likes to use it at lunch for podcasts while he is working out. So tonight he told his dad he needed it back so he could watch TV at dinner. We know, we know, TV at the restaurant...if you haven't been around us lately, this little man sometimes talks more than his sister, hard to believe I know but man can he talk. We'll take any quiet seconds, and sometimes they are just that, that we can get.
Tonight on the way to the restaurant, Connor asked if he could sit in the backseat and I said that it was too long of a ride to go without a carseat... (if we are driving in our neighborhood, we sometimes let him sit in the back of the van with a seatbelt with KK). He didn't say anything else and got in the car. We get back in the car to go home and about 3 minutes from home he says WOW this was a long ride home and I said no it was a short ride, and so he said "so I can sit in the back" I said "NO" then I turned around and said "good one Connor you got me". He was laughing and said "I tricked you mom". We laughed so hard!

Life in the Fast Lane

1 Month since my last post. Don't even know where to begin. Today, KK had her 2nd birthday party from school friends. She was able to attend both and I was very happy to see that they were such sweet girls. After tomorrow I will have had 4 games since Sept 4.

Last week one of my best friends from HS in Germany came into town to catch a Cowboys game. I have wonderful memories of us in 10th and 11th grade. Her and her husband came up without their 2 little boys; 5 and almost 2. This was their first trip in 5 yrs by themselves. You know how we are huge proponents of couple only trips if possible, even for a night. They were the BEST Cowboys fans. I was able to get them on the field for some touchdown passes between, Trev, Connor, KK and Eric, while Jenn and I reminisced. When I showed them where their seats were, they were speechless, 2 rows from the field, 5yd line. KK took a liking to Jenn, reminded me so much of my sister Carrie. She used to hang all over Jenn 17 years ago. We went to the mall to go to the Pro Shop after the mini tour. Connor was confused as to why there was nobody at the stadium... We pretty much had it to ourselves. Unfortunately, throughout this day I was a little out of it. I slipped and fell the night before on my way to my car after work. Straight to the ER after stopping and picking up Trev and the kids. I was almost certain I had not broken anything, but needed some pain medicine and thought the x-rays would not hurt. Checked in at 7:44pm and were out of there by 9pm. I bruised my tailbone pretty bad. Needless to say after 3 vicadin, Saturday I was not feeling any pain but was soooo sick. I don't do well with anything stronger than Motrin. But the pain was sooo bad that I was willing to get sick to get over the pain. So, my visit with Jenn was a little groggy with the pain medicine in me.

KK is adjusting to school very well. She was getting a little sassy right before school started and everyone said that Kindergarten would fix that and they were right. She is back to our sweet, pleasant KK. Today she told me more than 5 times I was the best mom ever and I even got a thank you for taking me to the birthday party and she pd me $.52. She is starting to realize we sometimes reward with coins for good eating or helping around the house. So today, I guess I did want she liked so I got paid! Thanks KK.

Connor is doing good. He loves all of the babysitters coming over to the house after school. We were having one of them pick up b-4 nap 2 times a week, but he loves Ms. Janices' class so much he wants the extra 2 hours even if he is asleep. He still enjoys his music. This boy has some serious moves.

Trev took the kids to the Lewisville Farmers parade that was a couple of weeks ago. They really enjoyed that, Firetruck throwing out candy is #1 on Connor's list of cool things.

At the beginning of Sept we celebrated my Great Aunt's 80th birthday. That was so cool! It was a surprise and there were about 30 of us. The coolest part is that she made it to this birthday, last year some of you may remember, she had surgery on her toe and 2 days later she was in the hospital on a ventilator due to her heart problems. After 5 months of hard fought battle on her part to get herself not only better but back home was a miracle. We were very happy to celebrate this very special day with her.

I have been couponing the past 2 months... I know as if I didn't have enough. It is working though. A girlfriend of mine and I swap coupons, after I have looked at the newspaper coupons I cut the ones I want and then give her the "leftovers" and she does the same. Stockpiling coupons makes the savings so much better. Currently we are stockpiled on sandwich bags, shaving cream, paper towel, hand soap and bar soap and detergent. I have not bought any of those items full price and when there is a good deal I usually get 3 or 4 of them with the coupons on top. The way we could really tell is that our grocery bill was down over $75 this past month. Thanks Leslie!

Trev is going to the game tomorrow. It will be his first this year and Pa, Maw Maw and Aunt Tammy are coming up, don't forget Copper, the puppy. This will be the first time a puppy has been in our house, should be interesting. The kids absolutely LOVE Copper.

Next week, Pop Pop and Grammy are flying in for a quick 60 hour visit. We are grateful for any of the time!

Off to get some shut eye before the big game tomorrow.

Her 1st Day... and His 1st Day

Well... the day came and went for Ms. KK, last Monday seems like a long time ago. A lot has happened since then. But needless to say we all survived.


The whole family took KK to her class. We got there early like she does each day and sat with her in the cafeteria so she would get used to that. We all walked to the classroom and we found her seat at her table where a color sheet was awaiting her. She put her backpack in her locker that she shares with one of her tablemates. Sidebar, that was her favorite part of her first day, the LOCKER! We have since sent a kissing hand that is displayed in there for her to see an outline of our handprint with a kiss from us a note from Trev and I so she can see it every morning. The drop off was rather quick. She was a little tenative but no tears from her. I was the first to give her a hug and then Trev and then CB. I went out to the hall as to not be seen by her while I had a few tears under my sunglasses. I stayed in the hall while the boys headed to the car, I checked on her 3 times, her back was to us so she did not see me. SHE did GREAT! We raced home to one of our babysitters waiting to take Connor for the day for us and then Trev and I sped to work so we could both be back in time to pick her up together on her first day.


We picked her up in the drive-thru pick up line. (I had stressed about her all day and had made myself physically sick, almost did not make it) When she got in the car, she was not her normal talkative self, we think she was downloading all that she had just done. But in true KK fashion as soon as she was ready it was non-stop for the rest of the night.


The rest of the week is little of a blur seeing as I had a game on Thursday night and had to sleepwalk into work on Friday.

The excitement has turned to a little nervousness.After school, she looks relieved to have this day behind her.

Connor's first day of pre-school was this past Tuesday. He moved up to the Esther Class. He has met up with his friends. His class is separated by about 5 fall birthdays and 5 spring birthdays, which will eventually lead them all into the same grade in school. So 1/2 way thru last year they separated the class when they were 2 and 3. But now that they are all 3 they are going to be together for the next 2 years. He is very excited because he is back with one of his "guy" friends again. His "girl" friend moved up with him, he calls her My Lauren. They are too cute together, we might as well set the date for 22 years from now they already act like a married couple, she dotes over him and he protects her. The funny thing about this school year for him is he has MS JANICE, KK's pre-K teacher. Which Connor loves and KK is not too fond of the fact that he is with her and she is not. There is not a pre-K class this year, the first time ever at their school, some of the kids transferred out or stay at home this year so Ms. Janice has this class. I was very excited because it is always sad when they graduate up and I miss those 5 minutes with them each morning. Connor did have to say good-bye to his sweet teacher Ms. Amber, in her thank you card , he had me put in there that he would still give her hugs.

We were able to enjoy the 3 day weekend with not much planned. We went to church on Saturday and on Sunday night we went to the local Rodeo, pretty small but the kids loved it. Connor's favorite part was the flag girls on the horses! Monday was our anniversary and we pretty much hung out at the house. We did grill out steaks and chicken and had a nice dinner with the kids.

All in all we had a great start to the first 2 weeks of school and the first 2 weeks of the Cowboys season. The adjustment will take a little while, KK is starting to realize I can't pick her up early and she can't go late, and when that bells rings, ready or not she has to go with the teachers and I cannot go with her (today she was SOOO super sad and tears were just rolling down her face, I had to let the teacher take her hand and walk her down the hall) She was so tired and she just wanted to stay home and I had to explain that this school thing is not an option, mommy and daddy do not have a say, all kids have to go to school for the next 13 years, (I left the # of years out). I talked to her pre-school moms today and the story is the same , the adreneline of the first days are gone and realization has set in that they are not in Ms. Janice's class anymore, they are not with their old friends and they have to go each and every day no matter what.

Connor is ready for a SUPER FOOTBALL SEASON! He is actually doing a great job of catching the ball and not closing his eyes.
