Cousin, Cousins, Cousins

2 1/2 years ago Trevor's sister's family relocated to Idaho. This move took our 2 nieces and 1 nephew and my good friend (that I saw once a week and used for my new mommy reference). I had not seen the kids since Christmas of 2006, the rest of the family had gotten together last August when the Cowboys had a couple games back to back. Needless to say we were very excited to have them back in Texas.
We met up at Six Flags on Friday, along with the rest of the metroplex. The little kids got to go on lots of rides, but the lines for the adult rides were 2 hours long. The girls were troopers and rode most of the kid rides with the little ones.

KK, Connor and Chase... Their own version of Superman!
Bugs and the Kids... The VERY FIRST TIME KK has been this close to a character... She is now ready for Disney World.

Saturday we had a birthday party for one of Trevor's high school buddys' 3yr old. Then it was off to Weatherford to spend the weekend with Amy and the grandparents. Mudpies that afternoon, led to bubbles, then water guns and finally an all out water balloon war. Yes, it was March in Texas and it was in the upper 70's. We used to do a jello filled egg war on Easter afternoon, but this year it was a spontaneous water fight.
Sunday, for the first time, we all went to church. We took up a whole pew. Normally we are rushing to the house after I have worked at the church and hurrying up all of the holiday festivities... but this year everything was on slow mode, which was very refreshing.
Monday, they came up to our side of town so Trev could take them to the airport on Tues AM, but first Trev wanted Chase to be able to visit Going Bonkers. Everyone loved getting their wiggles out there. We thouroughly enjoyed their visit.
The rest of the week was a little crazy, felt like we were behind the whole week. I worked on Sunday for an event that was located in the dirt out at the new stadium. That was neat.
This weekend motorcross is going on at the Stadium, a bunch of dirt bikes racing. Always something. KK has a birthday party for one of her classmates, this begins the Fab Five turning Five!!!!!
We started our first family devotion (As for me and my house)!!!!! The kids did great, it might be a tad old for them but we tried to tweak it for 3 and 4yrs old. They got it though because throughout this week they have been mentioning some of it!!!!!

Here are some pictures from the Brumlow visit!!!

Happy Happy Mom

The picture above, to some of you it may not seem like a big deal, and to be quite honest I did not think it was that big of a deal either, mainly because my children would not get their picture taken with either Santa or the Bunny, BUT IT IS!!! Today we went to the mall to play in the play area... The kids had been there earlier this month with their dad and had seen the bunny but as usual, just did a fake wave and kept on going. Today in the car Connor said he wanted to get his picture taken with the bunny and I said sure, knowing it wouldn't happen. Because as much as they always said they wanted to when we get there they always change their mind. So, we bought Connor some shoes for Easter and then proceeded to the play area and there was the Bunny. Connor stopped to say hi and I asked if he wanted to get his picture taken and he said yes, there was no line so for the 1st time since I have been a mommy I got to go through the gate and sit my child on the Easter bunny. He was not scared at all and the picture came out cute. I would normally not spend $15 for a picture but hey this was my first one in 14 Christmas and Easter opportunities for me so... we have the $15 5x7 proudly sitting on our mantle at home.
Today Connor has made me one happy happy mom!!! Thanks Connorboy!

Valentine's Day

Life has pretty much been on cruise control. Last weekend we had a playdate at Going Bonkers, an indoor jungle gym. Very popular right now and the price is right. This weekend we went to our 1st movie at the movie theater, all 4 of us... We saw The Bee Movie at the $1 theater!! Both of the kids did great. KK gets a little more wiggly then Connor does at the theater. She gets nervous when the lights go down, so it takes a couple of minutes to relax. Thanks to some "snacks" in mommy's purse the time moved along. Today we met at the Outback for Aunt Tammy's birthday. It was yummy. Connor still pretty much refuses to eat out at a restaurant. Good thing we get a meal for them to split. Daddy is off tomorrow for some much needed R&R. Below are some pictures on Valentine's day at school... KK is sporting a new outfit from Grammy and Pop Pop and then Connor is just sporting some of his pizza from lunch.

Great Christmas!!

Well... Christmas is over... I am kind of sad.
This was one of the best ones with kids. 4 year old and 2 year old make it very exciting. The anticipation on KK's face at 10:30pm on Christmas Eve was enough for me and my brother.
Connor opened all of his gifts rather quickly. All of KK and Connor's presents were wrapping paper coded so no need to be able to read. Connor would pick up a present sit down wherever the present was and open up!!! KK on the other hand wanted an audience to watch her open. The Hobbs Clan was at the house for the festivities. Aunt Mary, Christina, Laszlo and Billy joined us for dinner that night. Blake had a heck of a time flying back into Denver that night, but thankfully he made it.

I will add pictures next week when things slow down a little.
