Can You Say BUSY???

I did not realize it had been so long since I posted anything on here. Since the last post, Grammy and Pop Pop came to town for KK's Birthday, Aunt Carrie came for the 4th of July, Aunt Amy Uncle Bill and the cousins came 3 days later and Uncle Blake is coming this week for a quick 1 day visit. We had a potluck while mom and dad were here and we were able to see Pa, Maw Maw, Aunt Tammy, Aunt Mary, Christina and Laszlo, Aunt Mimi, Aunt Eileen and her new grandbaby, Blake and two of her sons, Cody and Grady!!! We are soo blessed that we live here where we can get together and see everyone.

KK had a what she called, "The best 5 year old party ever". The girls dressed up in princess outfits, they got their hair done, toes and nails done, and make-up here at the house. We shared the birthday with one of KK's good friends, Lauren. Two sweet girls from the church came and made the girls all up. The boys that came went outside with Trev and drove the motorcycle and played baseball and soccer. They tried to be very manly because everytime they came in they were surrounded by girls stuff everywhere!! Aunt Carrie was here for this so we got lots of pics.:)

KK went to her first official slumber party at someones house. She has had 2 friends stay the night here but last night she went to Lauren's... for 10 hours. It is Adventure Weekend at our church (VBS) so they got to Lauren's at 10pm and were back at church at 8am this morning... but we did not have to go pick her up so it was a SUCCESS!! Trev is volunteering again with KK's class and Connorboy has his favorite buddy at the house, Cooper...

WORK is insane in the membrane... we had a job fair this week and had over 300 ppl show up and I think I interviewed 50ppl!! That is draining to say the least. I think it is going to be a GREAT season. We are in full preparation for the season, I have my new position of Suite Operations Manager, so I will be very hands on with all of the distribution of all that needs to get in those 364 suites!!!! I know I change positions a lot over there, but I love that... I don't like to sit at my desk so this one is perfect for me, I will have a laptop and I will be mobile, I will be bunking up with one of my good friends, who happens to be my boss for the next 7 months due to the fact that we are growing with anticipation of the new stadium!

Enough jibberish for now, I know the real reason everyone stops by is to see pictures so I will attach some.

As you go along with your days remember
"Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice." Phil 4:4
KK and Connor had this as a bible verse earlier this summer and it is so appropriate, through good and the bad remember to always sing praise to GOD!!!!
The pictures go backwards... I know I have issues...

The two birthday princesses!!!!

The cousins, 13, 12 and 5! WOW how everyone grows.

Jenna is 5'6" and when she stands up straight and I slouch she looks taller than me!!

The girls getting ready for the fireworks...

Grandparents and Grandkids all together, these are some of my favorite pictures, we are so lucky to have about 4 different times when everyone is together in pictures!!KK and Connor LOVED Baby Blake!! His daddy is in Iraq! Pray for him. Connor had a crush on Baby Blake's mommy, Katie.

KK's annual birthday picture with her daddy

Slumber Party with "Ken" Kennedy! Not quite sure who this diva is on the right!! Strikin' a pose that is for sure!!

Mommy is Sad, KK is Glad, Won't Be the Last Time

Yes you are reading that sticker correctly! KINDERGARTEN. Our church promotes the children in June so that they are in their new classes for VBS!!! I do not consider myself an emotional person, (don't ask my husband or my siblings), it is not like I cry at many movies, or cry while I am reading a good book BUT... as I watched KK go into the new building and the new room without even turning around, I could cry right now all over!! Now, I should have been ready for this to happen because she told me how excited she was, I should have been ready because I had been telling her about this day for over a month, I should have been ready for this day because I used to work at the church and I am very familiar with Promotion Weekend however, had 2 of my friends not been standing right there next to me I would have lost it all together. She went in with one of her classmates, Ethan and Nicholas (who is going into 1st grade, but same room) walked in with her. Trev and I stood there and said good-bye and she marched right in there with her Kindergarten sticker so proudly displayed on her dress. She was having soo much fun when we picked her up, some of the kids were dancing on the stage singing songs from last year's VBS, which she is very familar with.
I also should have known she would be okay when she so precisely told me last week that she was going back to the BIG church where she started! See the pre-school is in a building of it's own. So she is right since the nursery is in the main building with all of the elementary classes!
I know, I know this is just the beginning of letting go. WOW, I just never realized it would be so Tough!!! August 25 is marked on my calendar, I knew 5 years ago this day would come, you see she is not the first kid to go to kindergarten, however, I never truly understood the words my parents said when they said to enjoy every moment because it goes soooo fast. And if this was an inclination of how that day will go, we better get the box of kleenex ready because 3:00pm that day will not come too soon for me!

A Trip for Two

Hilton Golf and Spa Resort in Phoenix

Trevor and I went on our annual Trev and Heather Only Trip!! We have been doing this every year since we have been married... before there were kids and now that we have 2, we still make it a priority to go somewhere...
2001- Married (no kids)
2002-Shreveport (no kids)
2003-Swapped houses with Trev's parents (KK 6 months old)
2004-Turner Falls, Ok (KK 14 months old, Amy watched her)
2005-I think we missed this one with a 2 yr old and a 6 month old
2006-St. Louis, Mo (KK 3yrs and Connor 1yr, Trev's parents came over)
2007-Houston, TX (KK 4 yrs and Connor 2yrs, Heather's parents flew in)
2008-Phoenix, Az (KK 5 yrs and Connor 3yrs, Heather's aunt and cousin came over and then
they went to Trev's parents)

While we were in Phoenix, Trev golfed!!!, Heather had her 1st massage, we watched 3 movies (Deja Vu, I am Sam and Fool's Gold), we hiked 1 time, Trev hiked 2 times, we went to 1 Diamondbacks vs Nationals Ball game and saw 4 home runs, Trev read 1 book, Heather read 2 books, We both slept in and we went to the 6 pools way more than 10 times.
We really enjoy our time out of town, or even out of our house for a couple of days.
1. We carried on an entire conversation without interruption
2. We get to sleep in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. We eat our meals hot
4. We could drive without the music and without talking for longer then 15 secs
5. We only had to get ourselves ready in the morning
6. We didn't have ANY whining, unless of course it was me:)
7. We were able to watch channels on the TV other than disney before 8pm
8. We got to go to adult restaurants
9. We were the ones that got to take a nap
10. We talked about things besides, "the schedule, who is picking up, what's for dinner, you got bed or dishes??
Don't get me wrong, I missed the kids terribly! It doesn't matter whether we are gone 2 days or 5, the day before we come home I am Always ready to get there as fast as I can to get the kids. We don't call home very often, as to not upset them, so that is kind of hard on me but...
Trev and I sooo love this time together to reconnect and plan out the next year of activities and life. See, going on a trip is about 25% of our conversations throughout the year, 2 months before we go we are talking about all of the stuff, tickets, things to do and 2 months after the trip we are still talking about all of the stuff we did!!
We highly recommend to everyone to get away even if it is just 24 hours.

After hiking 1/2 way up the mountain!
Chase Field Diamondbacks Home! 1st 3 innings roof was closed and it was 77 degrees, Last 6 innings they opend the roof and let the 95 degree weather in??? The opening of the roof was pretty neat to watch.
Our date night at the restaurant on the top of the mountain
"A Different Point of View"
One of the backdrops to one of the pools!!
Not quite Colorado but... still some elevation!!!
