Summer Time

Connor had a birthday, he is 5yrs old. Very sad for me, happy for him!

KK at one of her 2 field trips in 1st Grade. I was a chaperone on this one.

LISDOLA, outdoor scavenger hunt and nature walks. We had lots of fun.

A balloon exhibit...we were one of 1,000's

not one of my better Sunday afternoon activity suggestions

Summer is finally here and now it seems to be zooming away!!! Story of our life.
KK finished 1st grade and Connor completed pre-school(graduation and all). During the spring both played spring soccer. This season I think the weather only permitted 3 practices, but after much moving around they did manage to get all of their games in.
We headed to Grammy and Pop Pops for Easter as I had an event before and after Spring Break. We met up with Uncle Blake and found a GREAT sledding hill. We did a full day of skiing ON EASTER Sunday. That was perfect because it was not too crowded. The kids were signed up for daycare and ski lessons so us adults could have some fun as well. We watched the kids from afar on their bunny slope and both did very well. We took them out for a spin after lunch and KK even rode the chair lift and went down a little hill. Once was enough for her but she surprised us and tried it out.
Since March 20th we have not had a stadium wide event!!!!!! That is great news. I have had to work so Large catering events but...we have our first event for this year coming up in July and then pre-season starts again in August. This year I am much more mentally prepared for the fall season ahead!!
Trevor quit his banking job at the beginning of June and is taking a class and trying to pass a test to become a teacher. Because he already has his 4year degree the classload is minimal. We are all very excited for this new journey for him as his GIFT is with kids. Don't know yet whether he will get a teaching job this upcoming fall but will SUB if not and find out which grade he enjoys the most. The kids are excited to have their daddy HOME all summer long. And I am very happy that they are not in daycare!!
Since we were unable to travel AT ALL last year we are getting some in this year. The day school got out we headed to Arkansas to see my grandparents with Carrie. The kids are going to Weatherford next week for VBS with their Maw Maw, then July 8th-20th they will be in Idaho visiting Amy and family then on to Steamboat Springs to hang out with Pop Pop, Grammy, Uncle Blake and Carrie. I will meet them in Co as I will not be going to Idaho:(
They are currently in soccer camp this week. It is ridiculously hot out there even at 8:30am, better them then me:)
Hope everyone else is doing good!! Enjoy the updated pictures

2010 Here We Come

Hello Friends and Family... We have been out of the blog world for awhile. Time at home for me in particular has not been spent on the computer. We are not going to dwell on the blur of 2009. We, the Fuxa Family, all four of us survived. We learned alot about ourselves, we learned alot about each other. We learned alot about the ones we are close to.

The stadium had 30 STADIUM WIDE events from June 6 2009 - January 9, 2010. We had 11 Cowboys Games, 6 HSFB Days, 1 Cotton Bowl, 1 Big XII, 3 other College Games, 2 Soccer Matches and 4 Concerts, 1 NCAA Basketball Game and 1 Star Wars Movie. And YES I worked all of them... Carrie attended 7 of them, Trevor attended 9 of them and KK and Connor attended 4 of them. Enough about all of that... 2010 should be much more relaxed if only because we have been through all of this before and have somewhat of a gauge.

Christmas was spent at home. Grammy and Pop Pop came on Monday and stayed until Saturday. We were able to see the Rosenthals and the Gyarfas'. We also went to Aunt Eileens for lunch. LOTS of fun playtime at the house and a slumber party for the grandparents and kids at the "apartment" that is what the kids call the hotel. We also landed some tickets to the Rockettes which all of us enjoyed. I was off Tues-Christmas which was GREAT!!! We were able to wake up Christmas morning to a WHITE Christmas here in Texas. Grammy and Pop Pop were here to celebrate with us. Currently we still do not have any BIG traditions, we have made a gingerbread house each year, and there is always alot of singing with the Christmas CD's. So pretty much we go with the flow each year. Carrie had to work in the morning of Christmas so she came at lunch time!! So we continued to open presents all throughout the day. Connor got a drum set and KK a cheerleading outfit from Santa. At the end the night Trev created a scavenger hunt for their final present; sleeping bag and flashlights. (That was fun, that may be something we do moving forward). Some of the other gifts were a password journel, easel, monster truck remote control and Carrie's favorite... 2 seasons of Full House on DVD!! Bonding for KK and Carrie... memories for me as I remember coming home from school seeing Carrie watch them over and over...
Then the very next week the Brumlow flew in from Idaho. Trev and the kids spent the WHOLE week in Weatherford with the cousins. I went 2 nights. We did Christmas morning on the 29th. All of the grown ups were awake before the kids. The gifts from this session were, books, Charlie Brown dvd's, baby alive, hot wheels tracks and bouncy balls.
Soccer is getting ready to start again, both of the kids are on the same team as last year. Trev and I are picking up the kids one day a week and Maw Maw is picking them up 2 days. All of our babysitters have new schedules that are not condusive for picking up the kids after school. We consider us lucky that KK only has to go to after day care 1 day a week.
That is a quick recap of our Fuxa happenings. I will try to be better this year with updates.

Below are some pictures since the last post in October!! Hope everyone is doing good.

Christmas 2009 KK 6 and CB 4
Blake, Heather and Carrie at the Stadium, The Cowboys are practicing in the background. This was before the Nov 22 WIN over the Washington Redskins. Blake came in for the game and the kids had lots of fun with their uncle. They even had a slumber party with their aunt and uncle at Carries' house:) Went to Amarillo in November because we were homesick!! Well actually parent sick. Carrie and the kids and I met them in Amarillo, exactly 1/2 way for both of us.
Grammy, Pop Pop and the kids at what they call a zoo in Amarillo:)

One of the first games in August I think!?!?
Star Wars Fanatics. They were able to watch clips of the movie on the BIG screen. Trevor did mention the first time he saw the big screen how cool would it be to watch Star Wars. WOW!! Dream come true!
Trunk or Treak at our Church!! This was a great way to go trick or treating!!

Connor at the pumpkin patch. Unusual for him to get his own pic!!
He was hamin' it up.

WOW! We have done a lot since the trip to Nebraska!!! We have been to Six Flags a couple of times, The Stadium opened with a BANG!! We have now had 4 major events, the kids were able to go to the Jonas Brothers Concert. They loved it!! We had 4th of July with the Brumlows who were in town from Idaho. They were here for 17 days in Texas. We were able to see them for about 7 of them, we got a water park day and a Texas Rangers and a tour of the new stadium. The kids and I actually did 2 tours on July 3, one for my parents, grandfather, cousins and uncle. Then we came back and toured the Fuxa's and the Brumlows.
KK and Connor were able to spend the weekend with Pa and Maw Maw last weekend. They had lots of fun. They will be going again this weekend as Trev and I are heading on our 8th annual Trev and Heather only vacation. This year we are off to San Antonio. We are going to float the river, head to the Cowboys training camp (we are HUGE fans when I am not working) and then to Fiesta Texas to ride the adult rides.
KK has had a lot of fun at FCLC this summer, she was reunited with 3 of the fab 5 from her pre school years. They have gone swimming, to Bounce Houses, the zoo, the park, movies and she LOVES her teacher.
Connorboy is loving his class that has dwindled to 6 kids, it started with 13 last year. I like that he is getting personal care. He is beginning to recognize letters and trying hard to keep up with his sister on wanting to spell words. He is as funny as ever. Keeps us laughing most days. Think he is getting taller, the video below shows his new found leaping ability. He has no fear!

Fuxa Family Fun

We have been very busy lately. This past month we have been to Six Flags two times, had 2 more soccer games and 2 more soccer goals by KK, been on a 10 hour one way trip to Nebraska to watch Aunt Carrie graduate and Carrie and I went to a RAINOUT Kenney Chesney concert.
With getting ready to open the new Cowboys Stadium, we have been trying to make sure we are still doing lots of fun things with the kids. I have had some late nights and some different shifts, which has actually allowed me some one on one time with Connor and also surprised KK by showing up at lunch:) Trev has been so great with the kids as usual, so last night the kids and I went on a impromtu sleepover at Aunt Carries' apt (even though she is not in town) so that Trev could have the house to himself for about 14 hours and so I could spend some time with the kids.

The stadium opens in 2 weeks!!! Crazy, considering the place is still TOTALLY not ready. But it will be by Juen 6th come heck or high water. I have calmed down a little with the whole thing. It was a little overwhelming for about a month, but it is starting to come together. We are in FULL training mode and I love that part. We will probably live there the first week of June. Which by the way is KK's graduation from Kindergarten. Very sad, she only has 9 more days of Kindergarten. WOW! That was fast. She is very excited.

The kids have been struggling to get along lately... Connor does not let his sister run all over him anymore and that does not sit too well with Ms. KK. However, on the Nebraska trip they had the best behavior ever. The car ride was outstanding and their manners on the trip were amazing. In fact, on the ride home we thought maybe every Sat we should just hop in the car with toys and IPOD's and head out to nowhere, stop after 3-4 hours and let them play on a playground get back in the car and come home. They entertained themselves and got along.

They were able to see all of their living grandparents, all of my dad's siblings and one of my mom's sisters. We had such a good time. Carrie is a Dr. and that is a little crazy. She is vacationing for another week and then finally home. She has been gone for a month.

The weather in Texas has been great. We actually got a spring. It has not been too hot so the kids have enjoyed most evenings outside, the mosquitos are on the way which will limit the time outside especially for KK as they love her as much as they loved me when I was little.

Enjoy the pictures...

KK has Soccer; CB turns 4; Trip to AA baseball

KK just started her first sport. I am so excited. She has done so good at practice now for the game. For 4 and 5 year olds, the ball is usually covered up by 16 little legs. This game was no different, the first breakaway was KK running down the field with the ball headed toward the goal. She kicked it in front of her and after a deep breath from me hoping she would not over shoot, the ball was in the goal. KK's first ever goal and it was the first one of the season!!! I actually had tears in my eyes. I was so excited for her! The rest of the game went great. Little slow as they were all trying to figure everything out. But huge success for us, no tears and a goal. Pa and Maw Maw and Aunt Tammy were there to witness it!! After her game it was off to Connor's birthday.

KK is standing next to the coach in the red, (of course)
Getting ready to pray before the 1st Half.
Hanging Out at 1/2 TimePracticing kicking it into the goal.
I guess that paid off:)

Connor had a great birthday... He was able to have his best buddy spend the night, then donuts and then off to school for a 1/2 day to have cookies with his friends. Daddy took the day off so he picked up Connor before nap and headed to McDonalds then off to Chuck E Cheese, but CB fell asleep in the car so off to pick up KK from school then to CEC. I met them at Cici's for Connor's favorite dinner, then finally presents. He loved them.

Frisco Roughriders were hosting the Springfield Cardinals so we went to the game and cheer on the up and coming St Louis Cardinals. Trev went to the game on Thursday and then we went as a family on Saturday night. It was perfect weather. We sat in the outfield on the lawn and it was a perfect spot for the wiggily Fuxa's. We had a fun and the Cardinals won, which always is a plus.

Checking out the big screen that was behind us

Look who is winning:)
Kid's Area before the game.
KK played with the Cardinal's 2nd base little sister
all the way here from California to watch her brother play.
